I am fascinated by the properties of watercolour, and if my work inspires you in any small way to share my enthusiasm, I will have achieved my goal.
Unpredictable, transparent ; sometimes lyrical, impressionist, dream-like, mysterious – but often dynamic, powerful, full of life and colour…….Water, pigments and paper play together in ever-changing, almost arbitrary combinations. Light and shade, soft and hard edges, all combine to create a fragile balance ; and it is this balance, with an ostensibly simple medium, which continually challenges the artist.
